I was surprised at how nice these boots are. While they call them hiking boots, they also fit the bill for day to day type of boot. They do look pretty sharp. The leather is a very nice color and goes well with any casual outfit and situation. The size fit pretty well. I think if I would recommend a half size larger if you plan to wear a thick sock. Which may not be needed as the inside of the boot has a somewhat "fury" type lining. Which is a it unusual. Frankly in average weather, say in the 60's I don't see it as something that made my feet to warm. The boot has zippers on both sides. but only ONE zipper is actually functional. I guess the second zipper is for style. But even so, are real nice just to wear day to day. I'm sure they would be great on a very simple and not to challenging hike. I wouldn't really suggest using them for any strenuous, rocky type hiking. But they they are a real nice boot.
