This are outstanding hiking boats! Great support but feel lighter than air. How do they do it?Run a little narrow, but stiff in the midsole and flex at the toes for light weight boot. These are a light weight hiking boot with okay cushioning and arch support. I’m 5’8” and an athletic 140-145 pounds. We hike 8-15 miles a day on trips and I bought these based on a number of high ratings by organizations. I normally wear an 8.5 in other Sportiva shoes and have always found the brand to have a nice comfy (wide) toe box and plenty of room elsewhere (I’m a medium width). The 8.5M felt like an 8N on, too short and too narrow. The 9M feels like an 8.5N. I’m keeping the 9’s but these are not a boot I will be buying again. I like Sportiva, so maybe a different style, just not this one.I bought the normal width and wide….and compared them to the Nucla model in the line. I have pretty standard sized feet, but the wide Raptor gave the more expensive dive Nucla a run—I ultimately picked the Nucla due to its waterproofing. Both were very comfortable.Maybe this is a me problem but this is the second brand of hiking boots that leaves the exterior ankle bone on my legs with dull pain. I wanted to love these shoes and everything else was comfortable minus the dull ankle painThere is dried glue around every seam between the rubber and fabric. It appears to be peeling in places, which causes less concern about aesthetics than the quality of craftsmanship. It's too bad because this is one of the best-fitting boots I've tried.Exactly what I was looking for - flexibility and sole of a trail running shoe with the ankle support of a hiking boot.Great quality love them
