I have a second pair in new condition because I love this boot so much. But my first pair are going strong. I have no issues with separation and I know that could be expected if you’re kicking roots with the toe. The bad reviews here should be seen as operator error in my opinion. An easy and expected repair for any cobbler. Also this is a very comfortable boot from day one. The calf skin lining and the padding along the instep hug the foot just right. I also thought maybe the size 8 was too big but after wearing them quite a while they’ve actually gotten more snug and I am glad for the extra space. Many boots would have loosed and stretched but so far I could not be happier. I’m considering buying a third pair because these will eventually sell out. The updated style of sole might be better for root kicking but does not look nearly as good as this classic style.
