I've worn these hiking almost every day for two months now and couldn't be happier. They are really well cushioned and comfortable - I haven't needed to use inserts. I have extremely high arches so it's been hard finding a shoe that didn't cause foot (and knee) pain. I don't do very long hikes - usually about 2 miles - but the terrain is often hilly and rough, lots of roots and rocks, and I don't have any pain afterwards. I wear them around the house occasionally too.Personally I love the lacing. It took a few times to get used to but now it's second nature. I make sure to pull the laces as tight as I can before rolling them up and stuffing them into the "lace cave." Haven't had any issues with the laces loosening, though my hikes are relatively short. And frankly if they did get loose I would just retighten them - it's not difficult.I've walked through a ton of puddles and muck with no leaks. The pattern on the soles doesn't hold onto the mud so I'm not tracking it through the house.I'm usually an 8 in shoes and 8.5 in boots but I ordered 8s based on the reviews and glad I did. There's plenty of room for thick socks. My only issue is I would have preferred them in black - but the blue-gray was on sale.
