Out of the box I LOVE these boots. Just pulling the laces in to the hooks and they feel like quality. The materials and boot assembly is exactly what you would expect for boots of this price. God did not bless me with beautiful feet, I wear a 14 wide have bunions and I think these are going to workout. I also have very flat feet so I use powerstep insoles. So far feels like the toe box is wide enough. Maybe not as wide as keens, but these feel good. They seem like they gently hug everywhere else. The sole feels stiff. Which is my preference. I hate feeling every rock on a gravel trail. I’ll wear them around the house a few days and update when the get some miles.I am a big guy and have been suffering with Plantar Fasciitis for a couple of years. I have tried multiple pairs of $200 runners, night splints and a myriad of insoles and inserts. The pain was spreading to my back and I finally realized that if I wanted serious foot support I needed serious shoes. After a month of the GTXs combined with high arch supports and a ruthless foot masseur the pain in the knotted muscles running from my heel to my big toe joint is gone. Going up and down stairs or just keeping my foot at the ready in stop and go traffic these beasties give amazing support to help reduce stress on my messed up foot muscles.TWO AND A HALF STARS...but i will err on the more positive side.so i didnt really get to test these boots out because they were too narrow even in the wide version. Its unfortunate because they look cool and they are pretty light weight. i really really wanted these to fit but i just couldn't make it work.I’m a moderate hiker, live in the desert. 5 years of use and still going strong.I Found the Fugitive GTX and the TPS 520 on a steep sale and bought them both. The Fugitive GTX is a lighter hiking boot while the TPS 520 is a full on heavy backpacking boot. Nice to have boots for different uses. I have wide feet and have trouble finding good boots. So when I see my size (14W) I usually jump on it. The Fugitive GTX was way too tight for me. I was disappointed because I really like the look and weight of the boots. When I tried on the TPS 520 I was pleasantly surprised. They fit like a comfy glove. I love them. So I returned my Fugitive GTX but I love my Asolo TPS 520. Still looking for a light day hiker for wide feet though.
