It makes me notice just how much cheaper footwear can actually hurt the feet. I'll save my money and buy Loakes in future rather than going for a cheaper make. It's made in the UK so you helping to sustain skilled artisans. The shoes themselves are smart but sturdy: ideal if you wear suit or jacket for work but your typical shoes will get soaked in winter. The sizing is very conservative and I ordered mine a half size smaller based on other reviews and could have even gone down to a full size smaller. These boots are wide fitting and the initial feel of the boots were a bit stiff and heavy. After wearing them a few times they soften up quite a bit and become extremely comfortable. They look great with jeans and although being a wide fit look great with slim fitted jeans and khaki coloured trousers.I now have great respect for the Loake brand plan to order a pair of Loake 1880 dress shoes soon. These boots look even better after polishing with Collonil Mahogany polish than when new.Great quality leather boots up to the standard one would expect of Loakes shoes.
